TurboFil launches vial assembly and filling station for single-dose liquid nasal applicators.

TurboFil Packaging Machines LLC, a hardware specialist solely dedicated to the design and development of liquid filling and assembly machines, has unveiled a vial assembly and filling machine for single-dose liquid nasal devices, which are increasingly seen as an attractive alternative to self-injection. to administer the exact dosage of drugs or provide emergency care. Available in automatic or semi-automatic setups, the company’s UDS Rotary Vial Filling & Assembly Workstation increases both throughput and flexibility through its broad array of station separation and inspection options. Рабочая станция UDS Rotary Vial Filling & Assembly Workstation, доступная в автоматическом или полуавтоматическом режимах, повышает как производительность, так и гибкость благодаря широкому набору вариантов разделения и контроля станций. Available in automatic or semi-automatic modes, the UDS Rotary Vial Filling & Assembly Workstation enhances both productivity and flexibility with a wide range of station separation and control options. UDS Rotary Vial Filling and Assembly Workstations are available in automatic or semi-automatic configurations, increasing productivity and flexibility with a wide range of workstation separation and control options.
For automatic operation, the rolling track format with vibratory product feed provides a speed of up to 80-100 pieces per minute. For semi-automatic installation, the system uses an operator-loaded indexing sprocket with discs to produce up to 30 pieces per minute. After each vial has been cleaned with a jet-vacuum system, the machine’s primary inspection station checks for cracks. To complete this step, the vial is lifted and rotated to be viewed by a 360 degree high resolution camera.
The vials are then filled with a precision valveless ceramic piston filler at a station equipped with a container missing/no filling sensor. The stopper is then inserted using a capture module with a burp tube to allow air to escape during insertion. The nose drive is then introduced into the line via an auxiliary sprocket (semi-automatic version) or via a “pick and mount” mechanism (automatic version). In either configuration, the drive is checked to make sure the cannula is present and straight, then automatically positioned around the vial, which is then pressed into place with an automatic sealer. Finally, the machine ejects the completed single dose delivery system into a collection bin. Options are available to further automate the star wheel system with automatic component placement.
The machine is both precise and flexible, with a dosing accuracy of +/- 0.5% tolerance for filling volumes of 100-125 ml. The position accuracy of the stopper is 0.3 mm, which ensures compliance with the specifications of the equipment. Additional inspection options are also available, including a post-fill station to check fill volume, piston height, and unwanted fluid between piston fins. Other additional stations may check for cracks in the rim of the vial after capping, as well as the presence and straightness of the cannula before installing the drive.
Product-contact parts of the device are made of ceramic, stainless steel and PTFE to enhance sterility. It is controlled by a 7″ HMI touch screen with recipe management and the ability to turn on or off any station or test as required by the specific application.
